Job requires the operation of various agricultural equipment to apply dry fertilizer and anhydrous ammonia (NH3) to agricultural fields. Workers will operate and maintain large farm machinery, including but not limited to high-horsepower tractors, fertilizer spreaders, anhydrous ammonia application equipment, nurse tanks, non-CDL farm trucks, trailers, forklifts, and other agricultural equipment used in fertilizer application operations. Duties include transporting, loading, handling, and applying dry fertilizer products; assisting with the transfer and application of anhydrous ammonia; monitoring application equipment to ensure accurate placement and application rates; connecting and disconnecting nurse tanks and related equipment; and following all applicable safety procedures when handling agricultural fertilizers and ammonia products. Additional duties include welding; performing general maintenance, repairs, and clean-up of warehouses, shops, fertilizer facilities, and farm equipment; ensuring operational areas are organized and well maintained; using hand tools and equipment to repair, clean, and maintain farm vehicles, machinery, and specialized agricultural equipment; regularly servicing equipment; mowing and weed control; painting equipment; and transporting parts, materials, fertilizer, and supplies to and from worksites. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various general agricultural functions. Daily duties may vary depending on weather, field conditions, seasonal demands, and operational needs. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely at the discretion of the employer.
