Workers will operate farm equipment to prepare agricultural ground and seed beds for row crop production. Ground preparation includes: leveling, disking, and ripping fields; using land planes; and chisel-plowing fields. Bed preparation for row-crop production includes listing, mulching, and seed-bed preparation. Workers must be able to apply fertilizers and chemicals using farm equipment such as spray rigs. Workers must be able to operate a tractor with farming implements. Workers may perform other duties and tasks under SOC Code 45-2091. Related duties may be assigned. Work is performed outdoors in highly varied weather conditions. Frequent walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and kneeling is required. Being on one’s feet for long time periods is required. Sitting in, standing in, and/or operating agricultural equipment for long time periods is required. Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds is required.
Frequent turning, pushing, and pulling is required. Dexterity to use and manipulate agricultural equipment is required. Vision, focus, and cognitive ability to accomplish the functions above is required.
