Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Assistant Director of Nursing (RN) to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this vital leadership role, you will oversee clinical operations within our long-term care facility, ensuring the delivery of exceptional resident-centered care. You will collaborate closely with nursing staff, management, and interdisciplinary teams to uphold regulatory compliance, enhance patient outcomes, and foster a positive environment for residents and staff alike. Your expertise in nursing administration, regulatory standards, and care management will drive continuous quality improvement and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical supervision and leadership to nursing staff across all shifts, promoting best practices in resident care and documentation review.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care plans for residents, ensuring compliance with long-term care regulations and Medicare requirements.
  • Oversee the management of medical records, medical terminology documentation, and EMR/EHR systems to ensure accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.
  • Supervise the coordination of MDS assessments (Minimum Data Set), ensuring timely completion for reimbursement and quality reporting purposes.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations, including Medicare guidelines.
  • Manage staffing schedules, shift management, and resource allocation to optimize patient care delivery while supervising team members’ performance.
  • Facilitate communication between interdisciplinary teams to promote seamless care transitions, especially in memory care or hospice settings when applicable.
  • Lead efforts in staff training on nursing procedures, safety protocols, and documentation standards to foster a compliant and efficient work environment.

    Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license with current state licensure required.
  • Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or long-term care environments; prior home health or hospice care experience is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with supervising experience in nursing management or administration roles.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and long-term care regulations including Medicare guidelines.
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and medical records management; familiarity with regulatory compliance standards such as HIPAA is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage a multidisciplinary team effectively.
  • Ability to handle shift management responsibilities while maintaining high standards of patient care and documentation accuracy.
