Clinical Research Coordinator, RN

The Clinical Research Coordinator, RN, under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, executes and coordinates daily clinical research activities and performs the necessary functions required for the conduct of clinical studies in accordance with ICH/GCP guidelines and FDA regulations. This role helps ensure Rainier Clinical Research Center meets all enrollment, protocol, and regulatory requirements. This position is ideal for an organized professional seeking a fast-paced and challenging career in clinical research and healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

Study-Related Procedures

  • Consenting patients for participation in clinical trials
  • Performing EKGs and recording vital signs
  • Completing study documentation and source documents in a timely manner
  • Ensuring patient compliance with protocol requirements
  • Ensuring adherence to GCP and FDA regulations
  • Coordinating with sponsoring pharmaceutical and device companies
  • Dispensing and accounting for investigational drugs and/or devices

    Study Start-Up

  • Attend Investigator Meetings
  • Collaborate with the recruitment team to develop patient recruitment strategies
  • Develop study source documents according to SOPs
  • Obtain training on study-specific procedures and documentation
  • Ensure staff complete required study training

    Become thoroughly knowledgeable with assigned protocols, including:

  • Inclusion and exclusion criteria
  • Allowed/disallowed medications
  • Procedure requirements (labs, ECGs, etc.)
  • Patient visit schedules
  • Medication dispensing and titration procedures

    Conduct of Clinical Trials

  • Properly consent patients
  • Ensure all study procedures are conducted according to protocol
  • Complete Case Report Forms (CRFs) and related documentation accurately
  • Ensure investigational products are dispensed and returned appropriately
  • Verify patient compliance with study protocols
  • Work with Clinical Research Associates (CRAs)/monitors to resolve queries
  • Serve as liaison between patients, investigators, sponsors, and the research site
  • Follow Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines
  • Work closely with investigators to ensure patient safety and protocol compliance
  • Apply FDA regulations appropriately to study conduct
  • Manage complex studies requiring higher-level patient and physician interaction (e.g., insulin titration)
  • Support team coordination to optimize study execution

    Study Completion

  • Ensure all study data is submitted to the sponsor
  • Work with CRAs/monitors to resolve outstanding issues
  • Other duties as assigned

    Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required
  • Willingness to work onsite in Renton, WA
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible schedule with occasional after-hours shifts

  • Clinical Research Coordinator experience
  • Phlebotomy and IV skills
