Board vessels daily and sail to designated coastal bays, rivers, and bayous to harvest oysters for human consumption. Deploy dredge nets, traps, and related harvesting equipment into the water to scrape bottom surfaces and scoop up oysters; lift filled nets onto the boat deck at the end of each run and remove harvested oysters. Cull and sort each oyster to ensure it meets the minimum consumer size requirement of 3 inches, returning undersized or otherwise undesirable oysters to the water. Hose down oysters remaining on deck to remove dirt, then weigh, bag, tag, and stack sacks for transport. Unload sacks from the boat onto the dock upon return to port for pick-up by refrigerated trucks and delivery to the processing plant. Maintain a clean and orderly work area on the vessel at the end of each workday.
The work will be carried out in multiple locations in Texas, including the addresses 122 Bay Ave, Seadrift, TX 77983 and 732 Broadway Street, Port Lavaca, TX 77979.
