Workers must be able to: diagnose, adjust, repair, and overhaul farm machinery and vehicles, such as tractors, harvesters, and irrigation systems; dismantle defective machines for repair, using hand tools; record details of repairs made and parts used; re-assemble machines and equipment following repair; test machinery/vehicle operation and make adjustments, as necessary; clean and lubricate parts; and perform other duties and tasks under SOC Code 49-3041. Related duties may be assigned. Work is performed in a mechanic shop setting and outdoors in highly varied weather conditions. Frequent walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and kneeling is required. Being on one’s feet for long time periods is required. Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds is required. Frequent turning, pushing, and pulling is required. Dexterity to use and manipulate tools and parts is required. Vision, focus, and cognitive ability to accomplish the functions above is required. Ability and licensure to drive is required. Workers must possess at least a basic Class C driver’s license upon hire.
