Ability to identify plants with different color pubescence (fine short hairs cover the pods and stem of the plant), different pod color, height (at least 1 hand taller), or late maturity (plants that are still green with leaves). Walk each row and pull the off-type plants out of the ground and then drop the plants outside of field. Hazards involved are to your eyes and hands from pulling mature plants out of ground and stripping pods from plant. Another hazard to be conscious of is the weather. Heat, cold, and severe weather can be a threat and awareness should be communicated. Ability to clean equipment in the harvest process using necessary tools to prevent seed contamination.
