Workers will operate and maintain agricultural equipment and vehicles used in cattle and crop production activities. Duties include driving and operating farm tractors and other agricultural equipment to cut hay, bale hay, shred pastures, plow fields, prepare fields, and plant crops. Workers will oversee and monitor pivot irrigation systems during crop watering and will be responsible for identifying and responding to operational issues to prevent interruptions. Workers will care for cattle, including feeding hay and grain, rounding up livestock, and assisting with working calves and general cattle handling activities as needed throughout the season. Workers will perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on agricultural equipment, irrigation systems, vehicles, and farm machinery to ensure proper operation. Maintenance duties include, but are not limited to, washing equipment, changing oil and fluids, greasing equipment, replacing minor parts, performing preventative maintenance, and completing basic welding and repair work on equipment and related components. Workers will assist with maintaining water wells, pivot systems, tractors, and farm vehicles. Workers may be required to work weekends depending on planting schedules, irrigation demands, weather conditions, and seasonal agricultural needs. Workers may also be required to be on call during nighttime hours to monitor and address pivot irrigation system issues, including preventing systems from becoming stuck or unexpectedly shutting down.
