Workers will operate tractors and farm equipment to prepare fields as weather allows, handle
on-farm grain (load/unload and move grain between the farm’s fields and the employer’s
storage, and make short, local hauls of the employer’s own crops to nearby elevators using
non-CDL farm trucks), and perform routine cleaning/servicing of farm machinery (wash,
grease, change filters/fluids, replace belts/chains/tires/hoses, basic wiring/lighting checks)
including winterizing and function-checking planters, tillage tools, seed tenders, and sprayers
(no pesticide mixing/applying). Workers will also maintain farm yards/roads, repair/maintain
fences and gates bordering crop fields, and keep shops and storage areas clean and
organized while following employer safety rules. No grain-bin entry or other confined-space
work. No construction/building remodeling, no services for third parties, and no over-the-
road/commercial hauling. Employer provides all tools/equipment and training at no cost.
Duties, locations, and hours may vary by crop, weather, and field conditions. The employer
may offer higher pay or a bonus based on performance or tenure at its discretion; this will not
reduce the offered wage.
