Manually plant and cultivate coffee seeds and seedlings. Field maintenance to control weeds and vines, removal of branches, pruning or stumping, spraying, fertilizing/fertigating and drip irrigation repair. Use of hand tools such as shovels, hoes, picks, sickles, shears along with motorized weed trimmers and chainsaws will need to be operated and used to perform job duties. Occasional hand harvesting of coffee cherry may be needed. Assists with processing of coffee cherry, separation, raking, and shoveling. Operation of field vehicles to include manual and automatic trucks, tractors with or without trailers, chippers, forklifts and all-terrain vehicles as needed. At times, you may need to drive on pavement roads to assist with equipment and supply pick up and transport of H-2A and U.S. corresponding employees between the housing and worksites. All equipment and personal protection equipment will be provided for the employee. Work is performed outdoors or in open-air buildings which can involve exposure to extreme hot temperatures during the summer months, mud, dust, pollen, insects and rodents. Workers must be able to walk on uneven ground and variable soil conditions. Work shirts will be provided. Pants and closed toe shoes must be always worn during the work shift.
