Under the supervision of the general manager, housekeepers will perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure guest rooms and common areas meet established lodging health and sanitation standards. Duties include keeping storage areas and housekeeping carts well-stocked, clean, and organized; carrying linens, towels, toiletries, and cleaning supplies using wheeled carts; and cleaning guestrooms, bathrooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms using brooms, mops, dusters, microfiber cloths, disinfectant solutions, vacuum cleaners, and powered floor scrubbers. Workers will empty wastebaskets and transport trash to disposal areas; sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors; clean and shampoo rugs and carpets; wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork; dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and equipment; and replace light bulbs. Laundry-related tasks include sorting, loading, and unloading linens and towels using commercial washers and dryers; folding and organizing clean laundry; and stocking linen closets. Workers will make beds, move and arrange lightweight furniture, turn mattresses, and hang draperies or clean window blinds. Workers may deliver guest-requested items such as rollaway beds, baby cribs, televisions, or ironing boards; report room damage or lost-and found items; and assist with basic preparation of rooms or common areas for meetings or events. Workers must follow company safety and sanitation procedures and perform other related housekeeping duties as assigned.
