Workers will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of various vehicles and equipment used to haul sugarcane from the farm to the mill. Workers will service, maintain, and drive passenger vehicles, buses, semi-trucks, and trailers. Workers will perform maintenance work on diesel engines and semi-trailers including, diagnosing problems, dismantling defective machines, and using hand tools and critical thinking skills to perform necessary repairs.
Following the repair process, the worker will reassemble the machines and equipment, ensuring everything is functioning correctly through thorough testing and adjustments. They will also clean and lubricate parts to maintain optimal performance. Additionally, the worker will tune or overhaul both diesel and gas engines in semi-trucks, semi-trailers, and pickup trucks.
The job also requires the worker to drive trucks to transport tools and equipment for on-site repairs, although a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is not required for these tasks. The worker will perform ongoing maintenance and repairs on trucks and trailers specifically used for transporting sugarcane. The employer will provide all necessary tools for the job, as well as the vehicle required for road service calls.
FROM MAY TO SEPTEMBER THEY WILL WORK 6AM TO 5PM MONDAY- THURSDAY. FROM OCTOBER THROUGH FEBRUARY, THEY WILL WORK 6AM-6PM 7 DAYS A WEEK.
