Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will support licensed physical therapists in delivering comprehensive rehabilitative care to diverse patient populations across various settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. Responsibilities Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to patient needs. Perform therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy, and other modalities under supervision. Document clinical assessments, treatment progress, and discharge planning accurately in accordance with clinical documentation standards. Operate medical equipment safely and effectively during therapy sessions. Maintain detailed records of patient care using electronic health records (EHR) management systems. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and modify care plans based on patient progress and clinical assessments. Communicate clearly with patients and caregivers regarding treatment procedures, goals, and safety precautions. Support discharge planning processes by providing relevant documentation and patient education. Ensure compliance with medical terminology standards and physiotherapy protocols across all documentation. Engage in ongoing professional development related to orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and acute care practices. Skills Proficiency in physical therapy treatment implementation including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and modalities such as trigger point therapy. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to physiotherapy. Experience operating medical equipment used in physical therapy settings. Familiarity with clinical assessment documentation and medical documentation standards. Ability to manage electronic health records (EHR) efficiently and accurately. Excellent caregiver and client communication skills to foster trust and understanding. Prior inpatient or outpatient experience within skilled nursing facilities or home health environments is preferred. Knowledge of care plans for diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatrics. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams across various settings such as outpatient clinics or acute care units.
