Requirements and Skills

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of South Dakota or compact state eligibility
• Experience in Labor and Delivery nursing
• Ability to perform comprehensive maternal and newborn assessments
• Strong clinical skills in fetal monitoring and emergency response
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
• Committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care throughout the labor and delivery process, including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum phases
• Conduct maternal and fetal assessments, monitor vital signs, and interpret fetal heart tracings
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Educate and support patients and families on labor, delivery, and postpartum care
• Respond promptly and efficiently to obstetric emergencies and complications
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient documentation and comply with all regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Current RN license in good standing
• Previous L&D nursing experience preferred
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Compassionate and patient-focused approach to nursing care
• Ability to work night shifts and adapt to scheduling needs
