Job Description

Outpatient Psychiatry Nurse (RN/LPN) Full Time (Part-time considered) Schedule: 40 hrs/wk; 8a5p, MondayFriday (Part-time schedule may be considered.) Join our dedicated outpatient psychiatry clinic team delivering compassionate, patient-centered behavioral health care across the lifespan. In this role you will provide nursing services to children, adolescents, and adults in a fast-paced ambulatory environment where collaboration with a multidisciplinary team is essential. You will be responsible for conducting patient assessments, obtaining and recording vital signs, administering medications and injections, and performing triage to prioritize care needs based on clinical presentation. Key responsibilities include: Completing focused nursing assessments and documenting findings accurately; Safely administering prescribed medications, including intramuscular injections when indicated; Providing patient and family education about diagnoses, treatment plans, medication side effects, and safety planning; Supporting care coordination by facilitating referrals, arranging follow-up appointments, and linking patients to community resources; Collaborating with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other clinic staff to ensure cohesive treatment delivery; Maintaining a therapeutic, respectful environment that promotes positive patient experiences and outcomes. Minimum qualifications: current Nebraska RN or LPN licensure and active BLS certification. Previous ambulatory care, clinic, or behavioral health experience is preferred but not required. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, strong organizational skills, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a team-based setting.
