Requirements & Skills

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Dakota
• Experience in oncology nursing preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Knowledge of radiation oncology procedures and protocols advantageous
• Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care

Key Responsibilities

• Administer nursing care to oncology patients undergoing radiation therapy
• Monitor patient condition and response to treatment, reporting any changes promptly
• Provide patient education regarding treatments, side effect management, and supportive care
• Collaborate with physicians, radiation therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with regulatory standards
• Assist in managing symptoms and side effects associated with cancer and its treatment
• Support patients and families emotionally while navigating complex treatments

Qualifications

• Valid RN license in the State of South Dakota
• Prior oncology nursing experience preferred but not mandatory
• Completion of accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
