Come Join our amazing team at Holy Family Medical Associates, LLC We are looking for a full-time (36hrs a week) LPN or RN Telephone Triage nurse. (THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION) Must be a self-starter with a strong work ethic and possess a can-do attitude. Typical Hours are Monday, Wednesday Thursday, Friday 8am-5pm. Tuesday, 8-12pm Previous clinic experience is preferred. RN/LPN Phone Triage Under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Physician, the RN or LPN functions as a vital member of the healthcare team. Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care for the patient population and their families. Duties and Responsibilities Triage in-coming phone calls from patients, schedule patients for referrals and follow up care as needed. Communicating results to patients and following up with questions patient's may have regarding their health. Perform basic nursing care to patients by following established standards and procedures. Obtain Prior Authorizations for tests such as CT, MRI, Laboratory work. Assist rooming nurse as needed by obtaining medical information and measure vital signs, weight, and height. Record medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical record. Prepare patients for examinations, tests, or treatments and explain procedures. Prepare and administer injections, perform routine tests, treat wounds, and change bandages. Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines. Team player willing to cross train in basic scheduling. Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies. Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, or physicians' instructions to patients. Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean. Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies. Contact medical facilities or departments to schedule patients for tests or admission. Communicate with patient regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by the health care provider. Provide for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights. Perform other duties as assigned. Basic Skills Talking to others to convey information effectively. Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents. Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Teaching others how to do something. Requirements and Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing or Registered Nursing program. Must have current/valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Registered Nurse (RN) license from the state licensing board. One (1) year experience in a clinic or acute hospital nursing setting required. Proficient computer skills required. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
