Servers will take, serve, and carry out food and beverage orders; answer questions regarding menu items and offer menu recommendations when appropriate; enter orders into the POS computer system; assemble food and beverages on trays; serve beverages and meals; replenish items as needed; prepare and serve hot, cold, and mixed drinks; operate the espresso machine; recommend and serve wine tableside to members and guests; remove dirty dishes; receive proper payment from guests; ensure the accuracy of guest checks, methods of payment, and member signatures; and obtain and maintain a working knowledge of all food menus, including carryout menus.
Servers provide setup and cleanup activities for food and beverage outlets and assist in preparing and cleaning dining and event areas, including arranging banquet tables, chairs, decorations, displays, and related dining setup items, and breaking down and restoring event spaces following food service. Servers may be required to perform duties in outdoor dining environments, at banquet events, and may serve customers via golf cart.
Servers ensure orders are prepared with the correct priority, assist with simple finishing touches before service, including garnishing plates and preparing items for presentation, check dishes before delivery for accuracy, presentation, and temperature, transfer important information between the kitchen and other waitstaff, replenish food and beverage items as needed, and attend all premeal meetings in person to enhance communication and product knowledge.
Servers also perform restaurant and guest service duties as directed by supervisors or Food and Beverage management, including assisting guests, resetting tables, maintaining dining area cleanliness, supporting food and beverage service, and performing routine opening and closing duties, as well as other duties assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by Food and Beverage management.
