Workers will be performing physical tasks related to the removal of snow and ice. This includes pushing, shoveling, moving, and cleaning snow and ice from sidewalks, driveways, and parking lots. Additionally, workers will be spreading salt, ice- melting solutions, and solids. Snow Removers will also maintain equipment, clean-up, and remove debris from job sites.
To perform pushing, shoveling, moving, and cleaning snow and ice from sidewalks, driveways, and parking lots, workers will use the following tools and equipment: snow shovels, snow pushers, ice scrapers/chippers, snow blowers, salt/sand spreaders, brooms, debris shovels, wheelbarrows, utility carts, and hand tools including wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, pliers, and hammers. Materials used may include salt, sand, and other de-icing products. The previously referenced hand tools (wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, pliers, and hammers) may also be used to adjust, assemble, maintain, and perform minor repairs on snow removal equipment necessary to complete assigned
job duties.
