Overview We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional patient care in a dynamic healthcare setting located in . This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, diverse environment, delivering critical care services to patients with urgent medical needs. The ideal candidate will possess extensive emergency medicine experience, strong clinical skills, and the ability to adapt quickly to varying situations. As a Travel ER RN, you will be instrumental in ensuring timely, effective treatment and maintaining high standards of patient safety and comfort. Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients presenting with acute medical conditions, trauma, or critical illnesses. Perform detailed patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and initial triage evaluations. Administer medications, IV infusions, and injections while adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Manage airway maintenance, ventilator support, and other life-saving interventions in accordance with emergency procedures. Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, specialists in cardiology, infectious disease care, and trauma medicine to develop and implement treatment plans. Conduct diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory testing, specimen collection/processing, and radiology procedures like sonography or CT scans. Assist in complex procedures including suturing, catheterization (cardiac or urinary), and tube feeding management. Support patients with diverse needs including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health cases, or individuals with developmental disabilities. Ensure infection control standards are maintained at all times while providing compassionate patient care in high-pressure situations. Requirements Must have a minimum of 1 full recent year in specialty applying for and 2 years as a RN Valid RN license/certification as a Registered Nurse (RN Emergency Room) Prior experience with Cerner and Epic EMR systems Ability to self-study telemetry strips upon acceptance Passing a basic dysrhythmia test during the first week of assignment Ability to triage safely, rapidly, and accurately Experience in identifying patient needs through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation Ability to provide both direct and indirect patient care in an emergency setting Flexibility to respond and arrive on-site within one hour when called during low census periods Availability to work every other weekend Experience in emergency care nursing Previous travel nursing experience Knowledge of telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation Location(s) Burlington, IA Davenport, IA Des Moines, IA DeWitt, IA Fairfield, IA Mason City, IA Shift(s) Days (3x12) Nights (3x12) Unique Gifted Benefits Guaranteed Pay - With Guaranteed Pay, you’ll never have to worry about not getting paid if your shift gets canceled for low census.
