Job Description
Overview
Labor and Delivery RNs (L&D RNs) are responsible for monitoring patients throughout labor and serves as the primary point of contact for family members. L&D RNs monitor baby’s heart rate and provide immediate care to the newborn. L&D RN job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
L&D RNs perform knowledge of phlebotomy, basic IV and central lines
Assess and record maternal vital signs throughout labor and post-partum stages
Administer pain medication and other medicines as ordered
Educate and support new mothers and families on infant care
Requirements
Current and valid RN license in New Jersey
Minimum of 3 years of labor and delivery RN nursing experience and 2 years experience as a RN
Must be willing to travel to New Jersey for the duration of the contract
Travel assignment duration: 13 weeks
Must have High Risk and High volume experience
Candidates must be willing to float to similar units if required
EOW/every other holiday required
