Tasks

Design prosthetic and orthotic devices, such as artificial limbs, braces or supports based on physicians' prescriptions and examination of patients
Ensure the information on prescriptions is accurate
Enter client information in databases
Fabricate prosthetic and orthotic appliances
Fit and make adjustments for proper fit and comfort
Repair, build and modify prosthetic or orthotic appliances or footwear
Assemble or build prosthetic and orthotic appliances according to drawings, measurements and plaster casts
Take body or limb measurements of patients
Make and modify plaster casts

Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses

Membership in the Canadian Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists
