Workers will perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and seasonal servicing of agricultural equipment during the employer's off-season to prepare machinery for the next production cycle. Duties include inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, fuel, cooling, steering, braking, and drive system components on tractors, planters, sprayers, combines, forklifts, trailers, excavators, and other farm equipment.
Workers will perform routine maintenance such as changing oil and filters, lubricating equipment, replacing worn parts, repairing hydraulic systems, maintaining shop equipment, organizing repair parts, documenting repairs, and maintaining the repair shop and equipment storage facilities.
Workers must have at least 12 months of verifiable experience repairing and maintaining agricultural equipment, be able to safely use common shop tools and mechanical testing equipment, and possess a valid driver's license. Because workers will service and operate heavy equipment, safety is essential. A drug test, at the employer's expense, will be conducted following any accident, incident, or reasonable suspicion of drug use. Failure or refusal to submit to testing is grounds for immediate termination.
