Assisting with the adjusting, servicing, cleaning, and operation of gin machinery for ginning cotton; readying equipment using hand and power tools; be able to operate gin equipment such as dryers, cleaners, gin stands, lint cleaners and bale presses that separate the seed, trash, and cotton fibers, then bales the cotton fiber in a bale; operate bale press and record weight of bale and seed; cleanup of lint cleaners, air intake screens; tag bales; participating in the inspection, storage and treatment of cotton; repairing and maintaining equipment; cleaning work areas; maintaining inventory; driving yard truck to move cotton between yard and gin; attaching equipment using hand tools; weighing containers and recording weights and identifying information; guiding products onto conveyers to regulate flow through machines; position containers to catch products; drive farm vehicle; minor daily and incidental upkeep to equipment and worksite.
