This job will require an individual to be able to be skilled in tractor driving for row crop planting, cultivating and harvesting. Tractors are equipped with GPS, if there is no previous experience then it will need to be learned. Mechanical attributes are welcomed ie. welding, cutting torch, electrical and problem solving. Previous knowledge of irrigation practices such as checking and maintaining wells/motors/center pivots would be helpful but not mandatory. Job duties include: Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops; Set up, operate, and repair irrigation equipment; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Load agricultural products into trucks without over or under filling bed or trailer, and drive to market or storage facilities; Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; Mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter or sprayer machine; Attach implements using hand tools. Must speak and understand English.
