Job Description

We farm cotton, corn, peanuts, and pecans. We need seasonal employees to assist with growing, raising and harvesting these crops. Job duties will include: prepare fields for planting, attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools, operate tractors, planters, sprayers, seed drills, manure spreaders, irrigation equipment, operate other farm equipment, plant trees, engage in planting, weeding, spraying and/or harvesting activities, fertilize, dust, and spray crops, spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus and weed growth, and diseases, using hand sprayers, guide products on conveyors to regulate flow through machines, and to discard diseased or rotten products, install, maintain and repair pivot irrigation systems, load and unload crops or materials, manually or using conveyors, forklifts, or transfer augers, load hoppers, containers, or conveyors to feed machines with products, using forklifts, transfer augers, suction gates, shovels, or pitchforks, manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery, mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into machinery, observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions, position boxes or attach bags at discharge ends of machinery to catch products, removing and closing full containers, walk beside or ride on planting machines while inserting plants in planter mechanisms at specified intervals, weigh crop-filled containers, and record weights and other identifying information, attach equipment extensions or accessories, load crops and unload crops, operate equipment to harvest crops, complete maintenance and repairs on irrigation equipment, drive pickup trucks to haul crops, supplies, and tools, inspect, adjust, and complete routine maintenance and repairs on equipment clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping, direct and monitor the work of casual and seasonal help during planting and harvesting, inform farmers or farm managers of crop progress, maintain inventory, ordering materials as required, operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops, participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops, repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment, repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures, clean equipment or facilities, harvest agricultural products, maintain forestry, hunting, or agricultural equipment, operate farming equipment, operate irrigation systems discard inferior or defective products or foreign matter, and place acceptable products in containers for further processing, grade and sort products according to factors such as color, species, length, width, appearance, feel, smell, and quality to ensure correct processing and usage, record grade or identification numbers on tags or on shipping, receiving, or sales sheets, weigh products or estimate their weight, visually or by feel, package agricultural products for shipment or further processing mark and label containers, container tags, or products, using marking tools, measure, weigh, and count products and materials, obtain, move, and sort products, materials, containers, and orders, using hand tools, place or pour products or materials into containers, using hand tools and equipment, or fill containers from spouts or chutes, remove completed or defective products or materials, placing them on moving equipment, such as conveyors, or in specified areas, such as loading docks, clean facilities or work areas, inspect cargo to ensure it is properly loaded or secured, remove debris or damaged materials, sort materials or objects for processing or transport, weigh materials to ensure compliance with specifications. The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay increases
