This position involves driving trucks, obtaining and maintaining a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), and ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations across assigned worksites. Primary duties include operating and controlling application equipment to apply agronomy products and crop chemicals safely and efficiently. The operator will drive trucks and heavy-duty farm equipment to haul fertilizer, water, grain, and seed between worksites, farms, and storage facilities, as well as operate equipment to agitate, load, and transfer fertilizer and chemicals between tanks, bins, and application machinery. Responsibilities also include moving sprayers, tractors, and other farm machinery between locations; loading and unloading fertilizer, agronomy, and grain products; assisting with train loads; and monitoring and maintaining grain quality. The role further includes operating seed handling equipment, loading seed tenders, delivering seed to customers, and conducting soil sampling using ATVs or UTVs, collecting and delivering samples to CVA locations. Daily inspections and in-field servicing or repairs of machinery, trucks, and trailers are required, including fueling, lubricating, changing filters, checking fluids and tire pressures, and performing maintenance such as replacing tires, bearings, filters, brake shoes, and suspension components. The operator may also perform welding or fabrication work to repair or create equipment as needed. Equipment must be power washed or rinsed between worksites and after completing applications. Additional responsibilities include general maintenance and housekeeping duties such as cleaning equipment, mowing, sweeping, picking up trash, and maintaining worksite sanitation, as well as assisting with building and facility repairs. This position requires handling and lifting products weighing up to 50 pounds and up to a height of 5 feet. The operator must follow all safety procedures, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and comply with pesticide safety and re-entry requirements. All agricultural equipment must be operated responsibly to protect people, crops, products, and property. Accurate records must be maintained, and any issues or repair needs should be promptly reported to supervisors. The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer.
