The Construction Laborer performs general physical labor tasks at construction sites under the direction of supervisors and skilled trades workers. Primary duties include digging, trenching, and backfilling; loading, unloading, and distributing materials, tools, and equipment throughout the job site; and cleaning and preparing work areas by removing rubble, debris, and other waste materials. The worker operates hand tools, small equipment, and measuring and cutting tools applicable to the work being performed, assists in joining components and using a variety of construction equipment and instruments, and may assist in erecting, leveling, or dismantling scaffolding, ramps, and barricades. Depending on project needs, the worker may also assist journey-level tradespeople with material handling, component positioning, piping system installation, and related construction tasks. Follows all site safety procedures and wears required personal protective equipment. Must be able to perform physically demanding work in varying outdoor conditions.
