Feed and water livestock and monitor food and water supplies. Ensure water access during freezing temperatures. Clear snow, ice, and mud from roads used to access cattle and feed alleys in feedlot. Herd livestock to scales and trucks for shipping. Examine animals to detect illness, injury, or disease, and to check physical characteristics, such as rate of weight gain. Provide medical treatment, such as administering medications and vaccinations under supervision. Mark livestock to identify ownership and grade, using brands and tags. Drive trucks, tractors, and other equipment to distribute feed to animals. Segregate animals according to weight, age, color, and physical condition. Inspect, maintain, and repair equipment, machinery, buildings, pens, yards, and fences. Clean equipment, brushes, shovels, water hoses, or pumps. Mix feed, additives, and medicines in prescribed portions. Order food for animals and arrange for its delivery. Patrol grazing lands on horseback or using all-terrain vehicles. Maintain growth, feeding, production, and cost records. Groom, clip, trim, or castrate animals. Spray livestock with insecticides for winter lice. Spread bedding for livestock during inclement winter weather.
Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.
Employer will abide by all of Colorado's agricultural laws to include Senate Bill 21-087 ("SB87") and any subsequent Overtime and Minimum Pay Standards Orders (COMPS order) .
Effective 1/1/25, overtime must be paid after 48 hours worked per week, or 56 hours worked per week for up to 22 "peak weeks" for highly seasonal employers."
