Cotton Ginning is a seasonal operation where employees must maintain and run numerous machines that clean and remove the seeds from cotton lint. Employees will work inside a gin building and occasionally outside the building. Employees will work 12-hour shifts and the responsibilities will include:
Daily cleaning of the gin and machinery
Removing plastic wrap and module covers from cotton modules
Running machines such as dryers, gin stands, and presses
Watching over automated machines such as a bagger, press, and moisture systems to ensure they are running properly
Employees should be able to use hand tools to make minor repairs to gin equipment if necessary
Employees need to be able to complete manual labor, standing for long periods of time, and be capable of lifting 50 to 80 pounds.
Employees will have to weigh, tag, and scan finished bales to be moved from the gin building to warehouse buildings with forklifts
A 7p-7a shift will also be worked in rotation.
