Workers will work with vegetable crops, including onions, lettuce, spinach, and broccoli. Workers must be able to: operate farm machinery/equipment to fertilize soil and cultivate and spray crops; haul and spread fertilizer and other materials; plant, spray, weed, fertilize, water plants; apply pesticides and fertilizers; assist with seeding and cultivation activities, prepare land for agricultural use; operating farming equipment; perform manual agricultural tasks; load agricultural products; and perform any and all other tasks and duties under SOC Code 45-2092. Related duties may be assigned. Work is performed outdoors in highly varied weather conditions. Frequent walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and kneeling is required. Highly repetitive motions to reach crops at ground level and place the crops in appropriate containers are required. Being on one’s feet for long periods of time is required. Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and carry weight up to 50 pounds is required. Dexterity to use and manipulate hand tools, farm equipment, and crops is required. Vision, focus, and cognitive ability to accomplish the functions above is required.
Weeding will be by hoe, not by hand, with a long-handled hoe.
