The worker will perform duties associated with the care and handling of beef cattle on a beef cattle ranching operation located in Nelson County, North Dakota. For the requested employment period of November 21, 2026 through May 1, 2027, the worker will assist with seasonal cattle care activities, including daily feeding, pen maintenance, and ongoing monitoring of livestock throughout the winter season. Specific duties include feeding livestock according to established schedules, moving and handling livestock, and monitoring livestock health and wellbeing, including maintaining suitable bedding and pen conditions to support animal comfort and health. The worker will work with cattle under the direction of the farm owner and will be expected to perform these duties in varying winter weather conditions, as the intensity of daily livestock care depends on weather and the progression of the season. Prior experience of at least three months working with cattle is required. These duties are limited to the seasonal cattle care work described above and do not include general farm labor, equipment operation, or crop production duties, as none of those activities apply to this position. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.
