Moving cattle home from summer pasture in October to winter corrals. Fall cattle work/pregnancy checking. Weaning and tagging calves. Feeding livestock after the grass dies each fall as well as when existing feed is covered with snow. Working and vaccinating livestock. Maintaining feed /snow clearing equipment. Maintenance on seasonal equipment. Inspect livestock for illness/injuries/frostbite. Maintaining winter grazing fences. Prepping ranch water lines/water valves/wells for freeze. Breaking ice on frozen water troughs. Snow removal on trails and against fences. Moving mature bulls to market - this is only done during the coldest months of the year to ensure a good winter hide. Moving cattle to calving pastures in January. Prep barns and cattle for calving. Calving begins end of February through March. Cleaning tumbleweeds off fences to prevent drifting. No CDL Required and no commercial truck driving required.
