The employer is seeking reliable, hardworking individuals to assist with the tomato and tomatillo harvest season. Main daily job duties include conducting simple daily vehicle maintenance checks (DOT pre-trip inspections), filling water jugs with drinking water for the workers each morning, timekeeping, field walking, and ensuring field sanitation measures are maintained throughout the day. Harvester/Driver will also pick up workers from employer-provided housing, take them to the worksites, and drive workers back to their housing. They will only spend about ten percent of their workday doing driving duties.
Workers will also perform farming and harvesting activities of tomatoes and tomatillos. Duties may include operating farm equipment such as tractors and field trucks. Duties may also include picking, handling, sorting, packing, and general farm labor such as, but not limited to, tying, pulling weeds and cleaning the fields (including removing debris and general field sanitation). Workers should follow safety and farm instructions. This job will be done under varying extreme outdoor weather conditions such as heat, direct sunlight, cold weather, possible rain, wind, and exposure to pollen, soil, mud, dust and other natural elements. Repetitive physical conditions such as prolonged walking, standing, heavy bending, stooping, reaching and lifting will be involved on a regular basis. All packing activities will take place on the farm.
