Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, and storage of crops, Grade and sort products according to
factors such as color, species, length, width, appearance, feel, smell, and quality to ensure correct
processing and usage. Operate and monitor grain conditioning equipment to ensure efficient and safe
conditioning of grain to meet quality standards. Operate fans and dryers to condition grain and achieve
highest possible grade while maintaining acceptable moisture levels. Load hoppers to feed machines with
products, using forklifts, suction gates, shovels, pitchforks and other equipment. Place products in
containers according to grade. Weigh products or estimate their weight, visually or by feel. Discard inferior
or defective products or foreign matter, and place acceptable products in containers for further processing
and shipping. Guide products to regulate flow through machines, and to discard diseased or rotten
products. monitor and report grain moisture and grades. Maintain a clean and organized work
environment, including cleaning conditioning equipment, storage areas, and surrounding facilities. Remove
snow from work areas as needed. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working
environment for yourself and the team. Load semi’s with hopper bottom trailers drive and deliver grain to
terminals using semi-trucks. Feed livestock and monitor food supplies such as filling feeders, mineral and
hay. Mix feed, additives, and medicines in prescribed portions. Drive trucks, tractors, and other equipment
to distribute feed to animals. Examine animals to detect illness, injury, or disease, and to check physical
characteristics, such as rate of weight gain. Provide medical treatment, such as administering
medications and vaccinations, Mark livestock to identify ownership and grade, using brands, tags, paint, or
tattoos. Must speak and understand English.
