Job duties include but are not limited to:
Feeding, watering, herding, castrating, branding, weighing, catching, and loading animals
Examining animals to detect diseases and injuries
Assisting in birthing, administering medications, vaccinations, or insecticides
Maintaining winter animal housing areas; using diggers, shovels and other equipment needed
Ongoing maintenance includes cleaning, maintaining and repair of equipment, various workshop tasks as well as maintenance of fences.
Repair fences, dig post holes, install and remove electrical fences.
Rake and bale hay
Use of various farm and cattle specific farming equipment
Drive farm trucks, tractors, and other farming equipment to distribute food to cattle
Receive and place stocker cattle and cows on wheat and corn stalks for grazing
Pull cattle off stalks and other grazed crops
Gather cattle and move cattle with 4-wheelers and stock trailers
