Duties may include: Feed and water livestock and monitor food during winter months when cattle is not able to graze. Monitor water supplies and break ice dams as needed. Examine animals to detect illness, injury, or disease, and to check physical characteristics, such as rate of weight gain for calves to ensure proper nutrition. Drive trucks, tractors, and other equipment to distribute feed to animals. Clean stalls, pens, and equipment, using disinfectant solutions, brushes, shovels, water hoses, or pumps. Inspect, maintain, and repair equipment, machinery, buildings, pens, yards, and fences & other related Ranch Hand activities as per SOC/OES 45-2093 (onetonline.org).
Possible weekend/holiday work.
The employer may choose to pay experienced workers, regardless of origin, more than the published minimum wage rate. See attached Addendum C.
