This position is temporary and seasonal, lasting only for the period necessary to prepare for and support the annual spring retail sales season. Perform manual labor necessary to prepare, stock, organize, and maintain a retail garden center for the annual spring plant sales season beginning in mid-February. Duties include unloading and moving nursery stock, arranging and displaying plants and merchandise, preparing sales areas, cleaning and organizing retail spaces, setting up benches, tables, signs, irrigation equipment, and displays, loading and unloading trucks, watering plants, weeding display areas, applying mulch, cleaning containers, maintaining walkways, assisting with inventory organization, assembling retail fixtures, and performing general grounds maintenance to ensure the garden center is fully prepared for customer traffic. Employees may also assist customers by loading purchased plants and landscape materials into vehicles, maintain cleanliness and safety throughout the retail facility, and perform other manual tasks related to the seasonal preparation, operation, and breakdown of the retail garden center.
