Work is anticipated to be Monday-Friday 4:00am to 2:00pm with a 30-minute unpaid meal break or 2:00pm to 12:00 am with a 30-minute unpaid meal break (each worker will work only one shift per day). Operate farm vehicles/equipment like combines, harvesters, and similar agricultural equipment. Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment. Workers may perform agricultural duties like harvesting and manual labor incidental to farming operations as needed or as requested. Manual labor to cut sugarcane from its growing position on farm, gather sugarcane after it is cut, and load sugarcane. Workers primary duty will be to operate farm trucks along Louisiana highways to haul sugarcane produced by the employer from farm sites to milling facility. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials. All tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned are provided to the worker, without charge or deposit. Hours may fluctuate due to weather conditions or mechanical breakdowns but will not reduce the 3/4 guarantee over the life of the contract. Possibility of work breakdown will not reduce workers guarantee over the life of the contract.
