Manual itinerant work mechanically planting tree seedlings, pre-commercial thinning, applying herbicides, pruning, and maintaining boundary lines to reforest and maintain timberlands. Use equipment in planting and thinning trees, spreading or spraying chemicals, preparing sites for planting, or performing other forestry services. Spray vegetation with herbicides to reduce competing vegetation. Lubricate equipment, fuel equipment, adjust equipment, and make emergency repairs to equipment. Conduct safety checks pre-operation, keeping job site clean, handplanting skips, assisting site foreman with any task when asked. Employer may pay a piece rate of $15.00 - $80.00 per 1000 trees hand planted correctly or the NPWC issued prevailing wage for the area of employment, whichever is greater. Raises and/or bonuses may be offered at employer's discretion, based on individual factors such as performance, skill, and tenure.
