Job Description

Workers will operate a Module truck (Class B CDL) to transport product and seed cotton from the field and deliver to the gin, a yard, or between gins, utilizing application to identify loads to which worker has been dispatched and locate load. Operate a Class B commercial truck to transport by-products away from the plant to customers as needed. Transport lint bales to outside warehouses as necessary. Workers may transport equipment between plants, to farmers, and to and from rental houses as necessary. Tasks/responsibilities include but not limited to daily pre-trip and post-trip inspection (electronic) and maintenance of commercial vehicle and module bed, add fuel, oil, and fluids as necessary and airing tires, completing documentation as laid out by the company, following all applicable laws and driving in a manner that prioritizes the safe operation of said vehicle, monitor loading/unloading trailer as necessary, communicating with personnel at loading/unloading locations in accordance with standards laid out by management, coupling and uncoupling trailers, competent in reading maps/GPS to ensure timely arrival of loads, communicate all needs/damages to maintenance crew, inspect cargo for condition/damage and report info to appropriate personnel, perform preventative maintenance. Workers will regularly climb into and out of trucks and trailers. Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order. Secure cargo for transport using ropes, blocks, chains, binders, or covers. Check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy. Maneuver trucks into and out of loading and unloading positions. Load-unload trailers and cargo. Handle equipment and cargo carefully to prevent damage. Drive trucks to weigh stations before and after loading and along routes in compliance with state regulations. Workers will utilize apps, log loads hauled and associated information (load number, conditions, weights, mileage, etc). Interact with roadway officials. Clean/maintain lights, windows, and mirrors, and vehicle exterior. Must be able to drive in rain, snow, and other hazardous conditions as needed. Drive in both on-road (paved) and off-road conditions. May drive other vehicle types. Read/comprehend traffic signage and directions. Assist with Good Agricultural Practices policies
General Conditions:
Job involves stooping, lifting and working in inclement weather as well as indoor & outdoor extreme temps. Must have legal authority to work in the US. Must be able to lift & carry up to 50lbs. to shoulder height repetitively through the workday. Raises and/or bonuses may be offered to any seasonal worker employed pursuant to this job order, at the company's sole discretion, based on individual factors including work performance, skill, and tenure.

The employer will designate time for lunch and breaks. These requirements pertain to both H-2A and US workers. Extreme heat, cold or drought may affect working hours. Employer will offer 60 hours per week (10-12 hour shifts), weather and crop conditions permitting. Worker will report to work at designated time and place as directed by employer each day. All of the tasks in this job description constitute one (1) job; the employer may assign workers to different tasks on any day or to multiple tasks during the same day in the sole judgment of the employer. This is a very demanding and competitive business in which quality specifications must be rigorously adhered to. Negligent work cannot and will not be tolerated. Workers should expect occasional periods of little or no work due to weather, crop, or other conditions beyond the control of the employer. This can occur anytime throughout the season.
