Responsible for snow removal utilizing shovels, rakes, snow blowers, and related equipment. Must be available on a flexible, on-call basis around the clock, responding to weather conditions as needed. Performs routine maintenance and repairs on equipment using hand tools. Carries out cold-weather agricultural and horticultural tasks including cleanup, pruning, trimming, and planting that could not be completed during warmer months. May, from time to time, drive a company vehicle.
Maintenance and Repair of Non-Mechanical Equipment:
• Inspect snow removal tools and hand-held equipment (e.g., shovels, rakes, ice chippers) for cracks, loose fasteners, or worn handles.
• Repair or replace damaged or broken tool handles by removing old handles and installing new wooden or fiberglass handles using hammers, wrenches, and screwdrivers.
• Tighten or replace bolts, nuts, or screws on equipment like snow blowers’ external parts (e.g., handles, housings—not internal engine or drive systems) using hand tools.
• Sharpen or file edges of shovels and ice scrapers by hand to maintain efficiency.
• Lubricate moving parts on small, non-motorized equipment such as spreader wheels or adjustable handles with hand-held grease guns or oil cans.
• Check and patch holes or tears in wheelbarrow or cart tubs using small patches, adhesives, or replacement hardware.

• These tasks ensure equipment remains functional and safe for winter maintenance and cold-weather horticultural work in residential and commercial landscaping/property maintenance.

• Work is performed in the landscaping, property maintenance, and groundskeeping fields on residential and commercial sites requiring seasonal winter services. The work will be performed at the job site/customer's location and Sharpe's business locations.
