Requirements and Skills

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred or active certification in surgical technology
  • Experience working in a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) or similar surgical environment
  • Thorough knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
  • Ability to efficiently prepare operating room and surgical equipment for procedures
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Flexibility to adapt to different surgical specialties and case requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare the operating room with sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies prior to surgical procedures
  • Assist surgeons and other medical personnel by passing instruments and supplies during cardiovascular and other surgeries
  • Maintain strict adherence to sterile field and infection control protocols
  • Manage surgical instrument counts and ensure all materials are accounted for before, during, and after procedures
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth workflow and patient safety throughout procedures
  • Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and workspaces following each procedure
  • Remain alert and responsive to the needs of the surgical team during procedures, anticipating requirements and acting proactively

Qualifications

  • Active certification or licensure as a Surgical Technologist
  • Previous experience in cardiovascular surgical settings highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of surgical instruments and sterile techniques
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism at all times
  • Commitment to patient safety and quality care

Compensation: Hourly rate range from $62.00 to $73.00
