Requirements & Skills

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent
• Experience working in a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) or similar surgical environment
• Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and infection control standards
• Ability to prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments effectively
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills within a fast-paced surgical setting
• Attention to detail with the ability to anticipate surgeon needs during procedures
• Flexibility to adapt to varying surgical cases and emergency situations

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a sterile field and surgical instruments for cardiovascular surgeries
• Assist surgeons and surgical staff by passing instruments, sutures, and other supplies during procedures
• Ensure all surgical equipment is properly sterilized and functioning before and after surgeries
• Collaborate closely with the surgical team to facilitate efficient and safe operative procedures
• Monitor patient safety and adhere to all regulatory and hospital protocols
• Document surgical procedures and inventory surgical supplies as required

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program
• Current Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) preferred
• Previous CVOR experience highly desirable
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in high-pressure environments
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and following all HIPAA guidelines

Compensation & Benefits
