Requirements & Skills

• Certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or equivalent certification preferred
• In-depth knowledge of angiographic procedures, catheterization techniques, and cardiovascular anatomy
• Proficient in operating and maintaining specialized cath lab equipment and monitoring devices
• Strong understanding of sterile techniques and infection control practices
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills in emergent and routine situations
• Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation and reporting skills
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and equipment for catheterization procedures
• Assist physicians during cardiovascular diagnostic and interventional procedures
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and respond to changes promptly
• Operate imaging equipment to capture detailed cardiovascular images
• Ensure all procedural and safety protocols are strictly followed
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all procedures
• Perform routine maintenance and quality checks on cath lab devices
• Provide post-procedure patient care and education as needed

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program or equivalent education
• Certified or eligible for certification as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) preferred
• Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience working in a cardiac catheterization laboratory preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to patient care
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and certification maintenance
