Requirements & Skills

  • Certification or licensure as a Cardiovascular Technologist or equivalent
  • Proficient in performing cardiac catheterization and angiographic procedures
  • Strong understanding of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology
  • Experience with invasive cardiac monitoring and recording equipment
  • Ability to assist in interventional procedures and maintain sterile field standards
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare catheterization laboratory for cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures
  • Operate and maintain specialized cardiovascular imaging equipment with precision and safety
  • Assist physicians during diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterization procedures
  • Monitor patient hemodynamic status and provide real-time data acquisition during procedures
  • Ensure strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols within the cath lab environment
  • Document procedural information accurately and communicate effectively with the healthcare team
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and assist with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program
  • Current certification such as RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) preferred
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a cardiac catheterization lab or related clinical setting
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and assist in physically demanding procedures
  • Willingness to collaborate within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
