Requirements & Skills

• Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential preferred
• Proven experience in inpatient clinical nutrition and therapeutic diet management
• Ability to assess patient nutritional needs and develop individualized care plans
• Strong understanding of medical nutrition therapy and dietary interventions for various diagnoses
• Excellent communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration and patient education
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation and organizational skills
• Current licensure or certification as required by the state of Minnesota
• Proficient in electronic medical record (EMR) systems

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for inpatient populations
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient treatment goals
• Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients and their families
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in patient records
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and best practices
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
• Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential
• Licensure to practice dietetics in Minnesota
• Experience in clinical inpatient settings strongly preferred
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills
