Requirements and Skills

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Minnesota
• Clinical experience in Obstetrics and Labor & Delivery (OB/L&D)
• Strong knowledge of maternal and neonatal care practices
• Ability to assess and monitor patients during labor and delivery
• Proficient in handling emergency situations with calm and decisive action
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and families
• Commitment to providing patient-centered and empathetic care

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Obstetrics and Labor & Delivery unit, ensuring safety and comfort throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum period
• Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Assist physicians and midwives during delivery procedures and provide immediate newborn care following delivery
• Educate patients and their families on labor processes, postpartum care, and newborn care
• Document all aspects of care accurately and promptly in accordance with regulatory and facility standards
• Maintain a sterile and safe environment in accordance with infection control policies
• Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain skills and comply with best practices in OB/L&D nursing

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license in good standing with the Minnesota Board of Nursing
• Proven experience in an OB/L&D clinical setting
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to quality patient care

Compensation and Benefits
