Requirements and Skills

• Proven experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist or within IR/Vascular technology
• Strong proficiency in operating interventional radiology imaging equipment
• Ability to assist physicians during vascular and non-vascular interventional procedures
• Comprehensive knowledge of patient preparation, radiation safety, and sterile techniques
• Excellent understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to radiology
• Exceptional communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to patient safety and quality care standards

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and operate interventional radiology imaging equipment during procedures to capture accurate diagnostic images
• Collaborate closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and safe patient care
• Assist in positioning patients and applying radiation protection principles to minimize exposure
• Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment to ensure optimal functionality
• Perform pre-procedural patient preparation and provide clear post-procedural instructions
• Document procedural details and maintain accurate records in compliance with regulatory standards
• Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure a safe and sterile procedural environment

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
• Certification as an IR Technologist, RT(R) with ARRT Interventional Radiology certification preferred
• Valid state licensure as required
• Prior experience in interventional radiology or vascular technologist role highly desirable
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to continuing education and staying current with advances in IR technologies and procedures
