Requirements & Skills

• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
• Proven experience in intensive care nursing, preferably in a Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills essential for managing critically ill patients
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations with attention to detail
• Competency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and clinical documentation
• Physical ability to provide direct patient care and respond to emergencies promptly

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional nursing care to adult patients in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit, monitoring complex patient conditions
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to established protocols
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, recognizing and responding to changes in patient status
• Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate holistic patient care
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
• Participate actively in patient and family education and support, addressing concerns with compassion
• Adhere to infection control procedures and promote patient safety initiatives at all times

Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Wisconsin
• Minimum of 2 years ICU or critical care nursing experience, preferably in a Surgical ICU setting
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification highly preferred
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced critical care environment

Compensation: Hourly rate ranging from $63.00 to $74.00
